Phil Brimhall Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide academic support to high school seniors who have completed a documented Youth Sugar-beet Project. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be residents of a county where sugarbeets are grown; must be high school graduating seniors; must have participated in the Michigan Sugar Youth Sugarbeet Program at one time and have completed a Sugarbeet Project. Criteria: Applicants are selected based on the committee's review of the application materials.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form available at Michigan Sugar

Company web site. Deadline: April 25.

Albert Flegenheimer Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial support to deserving students enrolled in the Hotel Restaurant/Resort Management program of study. Focus: Hotel, institutional, and restaurant management. Qualif.: Applicants must be enrolled full-time in the Hotel Restaurant/Resort Management program in any college or university. Criteria: Applicants are selected based on the committee's review of the application materials.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: For an application please contact the Financial Aid Office at Northwood University. Contact: Northwood University, 989-837-4230.

Michigan Sugar Queen Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide academic support to Sugar Queen participants. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be female, at least 18 years old and not older than 23; must never have been married and have no minor dependents; must be serving as Michigan Sugar Queen or Court attendant for a full year from crowning; must be friendly, courteous, and not use tobacco, alcoholic beverages, or drugs when appearing at official functions as Michigan Queen or Court attendant; must be residents of a county where sugarbeets are grown (Arenac, Bay, Clare, Clinton, Genesee, Gladwin, Gratiot, Huron, Ionia, Iosco, Isabella, Lapeer, Macomb, Midland, Montcalm, Ogemaw, Saginaw, Sanilac, Shiawassee, St. Clair and Tuscola). A parent/guardian will be required to attend any overnight events as a chaperone. Criteria: Applicants are selected based on the committee's review of the application materials.
