G. Thomas Balsbaugh Memorial Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for a Dauphin County high school senior planning to attend a four-year college or university. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must have high academic standing and achievement; must exemplify good character; must exhibit a variety of interests and activities in both academic and personal life; and must demonstrate financial need. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: Application for the scholarship should include: official academic transcript issued by school; completed personal information; completed financial statement; and personal statement describing current interests and activities as well as future goals and ambitions. Robbie Baron Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial support for a graduating senior of Cedar Cliff High School who attended Hillside Elementary School. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a graduating senior at Cedar Cliff High School and have attended Hillside Elementary. Criteria: Scholarship will be given based on the following: academic achievement; extracurricular activities; services to the community; an essay which identifies the applicant's opinion on values and youth leadership.

Applicants must submit the following required attachments: completed student application; high school transcript; completed student essay (question attached); and one personal reference letter. Chambersburg/Fannett-Metal School District Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide educational assistance for students of Chambersburg High School and Fannett-Metal High School. Focus: Engineering, computer; Computer and information sciences. Qualif.: Applicants must have a desire to pursue a career in computer engineering or computer science and must have an academic achievement of a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Selection will be based on financial need, submitted essay, academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and personal interview.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must have the following required attachments: completed student background sheet; official high school transcript with raised school seal; 1st and 2nd page of parent's and student's IRS 1040 and/or 1040 A forms; completed student essay (not to exceed 300 words); two personal letters (one letter should be from a teacher and the other letter should be from an employer or a supervisor of a community service volunteer agency). CODY Foundation Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To promote Christian initiatives through education and athletics. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating high school senior students from Greenwood High School, Susquenita High School, West Perry High School or Newport High School. Criteria: Selection will be based on the following: GPA (academic achievements); community involvement; recommendation letters (one from a teacher, the other from an employer, supervisor, or community advisor); completed essay; high moral character (must attend and/or be involved in church activities); and financial need.

Jan DiMartino Delany Memorial Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist students with their college tuition expenses. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a graduating senior of Cumberland Valley High School who will attend a two or four-year institution of higher learning. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Funds Avail.: $2,000. To Apply: Applicants must complete and submit the application to the Cumberland Valley High School Guidance Office. Include an official transcript of complete high school record, including GPA, through the first half of final year, on which the raised school seal is imprinted. On a separate sheet of paper, list your most significant extracurricular or nonacademic activities, noting work experience and community service with the dates of these activities. Attach an essay answering the question: “What are some of the obstacles that you have overcome or challenges that you have met in your life and how do they impact your future goals?” The essay should be titled, typewritten, double-spaced and must not exceed 300 words. Lou Drane Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide educational assistance for deserving music students in the areas of classical music composition, teaching, and/or performance. Focus: Classical music. Qualif.: Applicant must have a serious interest in classical music and display unusual ability and/or creativity; must apply for financial aid from the school he/she plans to attend; must attend an accredited post-secondary institution of higher learning or have been accepted and plan to attend same; be a citizen of the United States and must maintain a permanent residence on one of the following counties in central Pennsylvania: Adams, Cumberland; Dauphin, Franklin, Fulton, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Montour, Northumberland, Perry, Snyder or York. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must attach FAFSA Student Aid Report and a letter detailing applicant's financial need. Applicants must submit, along with the application, an example of their ability, in one of the following fields: Composition or composition-teaching - a CD not to exceed 20 minutes in length - and a written music score - of two separate works of you own composition. Identify yourself, your instrument and title at the beginning of the tape. Label the recording with this information also. Audition recordings of original compositions must be of live performances. MIDI and other electronic performances are not accepted; For applications in Performance or performance-teaching submit a CD, not to exceed 20 minutes in length, of two separate works reflecting a variety of style. Sue and Ken Dyer Foundation Travel Scholarship Award (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist students with travel expenses for educational or service trips. Focus: Travel and tourism. Qualif.: Applicants must be junior or senior students enrolled at one of the following schools: Cedar Cliff, Camp Hill, Mechanicsburg, Trinity or the Harrisburg Academy. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Funds Avail.: $2,000. To Apply: Applicants must complete and return the application and required attachments to the Foundation. Required attachments include: scholastic record and extracurricular activities; an essay on the topic: “The purpose of my proposed trip and what I expect to gain from this experience”; two reference letters from individuals who can speak to the quality of your character, your academic prowess and/or your likelihood of utilizing the proposed travel experience as a tool for personal growth; also include financial information. Educational Opportunity Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To award scholarship to a graduating senior of Harrisburg High School. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a graduating senior of Harrisburg High School who will attend a four-year college or university. Scholarship is renewable for up to eight semesters total, providing the student maintains a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Funds Avail.: $1,250. To Apply: Applicants must complete and return the application and required attachments to the guidance counselor at Harrisburg High School. Required attachments include: scholastic record and extracurricular activities; an essay on the topic: “How I am Preparing for My Life Goals”; and a FAFSA Student Aid Report. Deadline: April 5. Family and Children's Services of Lebanon County Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for Lebanon County residents pursuing higher education degrees. Focus: Medicine; Nursing, Social work, Mental health. Qualif.: Applicants must be enrolled full-time in schools of advanced education in the fields of medicine, nursing, social work, mental health and other specialized therapies in the treatment of physical and mental disabilities; must demonstrate financial need, academic aptitude and achievement, and commitment to a career in human services; and must be residents of Lebanon County. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria. Applicants are considered without regard to race, creed, color, sex or national origin.

Adrienne Zoe Fedok Art and Music Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To award scholarship to a student from either Central Dauphin High School or Central Dauphin East High

School. Focus: Art; Music. Qualif.: Applicant must be from either Central Dauphin High School or Central Dauphin East High School entering his or her freshman year in post-secondary education in the field of Art and Music. Criteria: Selection will be based on the following criteria: interest in art and/or music education; financial need; SAT scores; GPA; demonstrated leadership and community service; and personal essay on the applicant's educational and career goals.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: The application and the required attachments must be completed and postmarked on or before the deadline. Required attachments include: completed application; high school transcript including GPA; SAT scores; FAFSA Student Aid Report Form (Financial Aid Form); two letters of recommendation (one from a faculty member in the art or music department); a list of extra-curricular activities demonstrating leadership and community service; and personal essay on the applicant's educational and career goals. Friends of Megan Bolton Memorial Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist students with their college expenses. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Program is open to graduating high school seniors. Criteria: Selection will be based on: financial need; high academic standing and achievement; leadership; and character.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Application form can be obtained online. Applicants must submit an official school transcript of their complete high school record, including GPA, through the first half of final year, on which the raised school seal is imprinted. Students should indicate evidence of meaningful leadership and positive character traits, volunteer work or involvement in community or church activities/charities that contribute to the betterment of that community or organization. Submit a resume if available, though not required, and a reference letter written by one of the contacts from the resume. Students are also asked to submit an essay (300 words or less) describing his or her idea of friendship and the significance of having close friends in their lives. Deadline: April 16. Friendship Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist students with tuition expenses. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors of Harrisburg High School who will attend a four-year college or university or will further their vocational training at an accredited institution. Criteria: Selection will be based on scholastic ability, career goals, financial need and community service.

Norma Gotwalt Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist students with their college tuition expenses. Focus: Education, Elementary. Qualif.: Applicants must be female junior or senior students studying Elementary Education at the Penn State Capital College

and who have maintained a minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA while at Capital College. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Henry and Janet Guareillo Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist students with their college tuition expenses. Focus: Music; Theater arts. Qualif.: Program is open to graduating seniors who have studied at Cumberland Valley School of Music for four consecutive years; must have been accepted into a college or conservatory to pursue a degree in music or the theater arts; must have demonstrated ability to become successful candidates in their chosen field; and must demonstrate financial need. Other factors will include performance history, teacher recommendations, if the candidate studied more than one instrument at CVSM or was a Merit Scholarship Award winner. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Gordon B. and Josephine Hewlet Memorial Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist students from Franklin County with their nursing studies at a college or university of their choice. Focus: Nursing. Qualif.: Applicants must be nursing undergraduate students, however if there are no qualified undergraduate student applicants, scholarships may be given to graduate students. Criteria: Selection will be based on the following criteria: desire to pursue a career in nursing; academic achievement of a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale; extracurricular activities (sports, organizations, clubs); services to the community (volunteering); an essay which identifies the applicant's interest in nursing (not to exceed 300 words); financial need; and residence in Franklin county.

Roberta L. Houpt Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist students from Cumberland, Dauphin and Perry Counties studying nursing at a college or university of their choice. Focus: Nursing. Qualif.: Applicants must be nursing undergraduate students and residents of Dauphin, Cumberland or Perry Counties. Criteria: Selection will be based on the following criteria: desire

to pursue a career in nursing; academic achievement; extracurricular activities; services to the community; an essay which identifies the applicant's interest in nursing; and financial need.

Carol Hoy Scholarship fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist students from Mechanicsburg Area High School planning to pursue a career in elementary or early childhood education. Focus: Elementary Education; early childhood education. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors from Mechanicsburg Area High School. Criteria: Selection will be based on the following criteria: academic achievements; leadership and community service; one or two paragraph essay; personal interview; and financial need.

Purpose: To award scholarships for deserving students attending Cumberland Valley High School. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Students must reside in the area defined by the Cumberland Valley School District or its successor. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Leon I. Lock and Barbara R. Lock Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist students with their college tuition expenses. Focus: Automotive technology. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors of a high school in the Harrisburg School District (including Bishop McDevitt High School) who will attend Harrisburg Area Community College, or Penn State, or students who have graduated from one of the two high schools in no more than five years before the year of application. Criteria: Selection will be based on the following: a GPA of 2.5 minimum, financial need, demonstration of good study and work ethic from an employer or volunteer group and an essay which explains the choice of the course of study to be undertaken and why the student is pursuing it.

Carie and George Lyter Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide educational assistance for students attending Greenwood High School, Newport High School, Susquenita High School and West Perry High School. Focus: Education, Elementary; Science; Mathematics and mathematical sciences. Qualif.: Applicants must have a desire to pursue a career in elementary or middle school education with emphasis in science or mathematics; an academic achievement of a cumulative GPA of 2.5 to 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in their junior/senior year; demonstrated talent for leadership; a high moral character (must have attended and be involved in church activities); and must demonstrate financial need. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must submit the following required attachments: completed student background sheet; official high school transcript with raised school seal; FAFSA student aid report; completed student 300-word essay identifying their interest in Elementary or Middle School Education with an emphasis in science and mathematics (include professional goals); and two personal reference letters. Sam Mizrahi Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist students with their college tuition expenses. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must demonstrate financial need; must have a minimum 2.5 GPA; and must have a high moral character. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Leo F. Moro Baseball Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist students with their college tuition expenses. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must demonstrate financial need, sportsmanship and leadership; must demonstrate academic achievement based on GPA and SAT scores; and must have a potential for success in the sport of baseball. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Pathways to Success Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide high school students a meaningful, educational and highly-involved look at law and law-related career opportunities. Focus: Law; Paralegal studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be minority students accepted by (in the case of high school students) or enrolled in an accredited institution of higher learning at its main campus or a branch campus located in Central Pennsylvania. Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Application form can be obtained online. Applicants must provide a copy of high school or college transcript, certified as true and accurate by your guidance counselor, Registrar's Office or equivalent. Applicants must respond to the essay question (maximum of 500 words and typed). If you are in high school, attach a copy of your letter of acceptance to your application. Applicants pursuing post-secondary education should attach a copy of a certification of good standing from the educational institution which they are attending. Submit two letters of recommendation endorsing your candidacy for the Pathways to Success scholarship with your application. Letters of recommendation from teachers, administrators, or community members may be submitted and must reference at least one example of personal interaction with the applicant to underscore the applicant's academic/leadership and/or contribution to community.
