To provide financial assistance to Connecticut residents who are interested in studying Polish language, history, or culture in the United States or in Poland.

Title of Award: Tadeusz Sendzimir Fund Scholarships Area, Field, or Subject: Foreign languages; Polish studies Level of Education for which Award is Granted: Four Year College, Graduate Number Awarded: Varies each year. Funds Available: The stipend ranges from $3,000 to $5,000. Funds are paid directly to the recipient's school. Duration: 1 year or 1 summer; recipients may reapply, provided they maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must be Connecticut residents currently enrolled or planning to enroll at a 4-year college or university. They must be planning to study Polish language, history, or culture on the undergraduate or graduate school level in the United States or Poland. Preference is given to applicants of Polish descent. Students may also apply to attend a summer school in Poland. Selection is based on academic record, extracurricular activities, work experience, financial need, and an essay. Deadline for Receipt: February of each year. Additional Information: Recipients may attend an accredited college or university in the United States or in Poland.
