Description: Independent African Methodist Episcopal, 4-year, coed. Awards bachelor's degrees. Founded 1866. Setting: 20-acre urban campus. Total enrollment: 1,320. Full-time: 1,284 students, 49% women, 51% men. Part-time: 36 students, 53% women, 47% men. Students come from 15 states and territories, 1% Hispanic, 91% black, 2% international. Retention: 70% of 2003 full-time freshmen returned. Academic areas with the most degrees conferred: education; business/marketing; biological/life sciences. Core. Calendar: semesters.
