Dick Depaolis Memorial Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to graduating seniors from North Farmington High School who demonstrate leadership, good grades and male varsity athlete who will enter college majoring liberal studies, especially History and English. Focus: History; English language and literature. Qualif.: Applicants must be members of the graduating class at North Farmington High School; must demonstrate exemplary desire, ability and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher; must be male athletes demonstrating leadership, academic discipline and good sportsmanship on and off the field; must be playing varsity sports (football preferred); have applied or been accepted as full-time students in an accredited educational institution in the United States with a major in liberal studies, especially History and English. Criteria: Recipients are evaluated based on academic records, recommendations, and the statement of goals.

Funds Avail.: $500. To Apply: Applicants must use a computer, typewriter or print neatly in blue or black ink in completing the application form. Deadline: April 2.

Detroit Economic Club Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to students of Southeast Michigan region for their education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be high school seniors in public or private high school in Wayne, Oakland or Macomb counties. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on scholastic, social and financial need.

Funds Avail.: $2,000. Number Awarded: 2. To Apply: Applicants must first be nominated by his or her counselor and then invited to apply, for scholarship consideration. Deadline: April 1.

Detroit Tigers Willie Horton Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to students of Southeast Michigan region for education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors at Northwestern High School in Detroit; must show leadership and character through extra curricular activities, volunteer

involvement and work experience in school and in the community; have applied or have been accepted as full time students in an accredited educational institution in the United States. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on scholastic, personal attributes and experience in school or community.

Funds Avail.: $5,000. Number Awarded: 1. To Apply: Applicants must use a computer, typewriter or print neatly in blue or black ink all appropriate forms. Deadline: April 1.

Robert Holmes Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to students of Southeast Michigan region for their education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be dependents of eligible Michigan Teamsters and high school seniors who will attend a Michigan College or University as full time students. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on criteria designed by the Scholarship Selection Committee.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. Number Awarded: 6. To Apply: Applicants must submit the completed application form and other required documents. Deadline: April 1.

Chris Kurzweil Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to students in the Southeast Michigan region for their education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be dependents of members of the Intertape Polymer Group, formerly American Tape; and must be high school seniors. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic records, recommendations, and their statement of goals.

Funds Avail.: $1,500. Number Awarded: 2. To Apply: Applicants must use a computer, typewriter or print neatly in blue or black ink all appropriate forms. Deadline: April 1.

Imelda and Ralph LeMar Scholarship Program (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide educational assistance to students who are graduates from public high schools in Fowlerville. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be members of a graduating class in a public high school in Fowlerville, Michigan; must demonstrates exemplary desire, ability and good grades; must show leadership and character through extra curricular activities, volunteer involvement and work experience in school and in the community; have applied or been accepted as full-time students in an accredited educational institution in the United States; must be planning to study chemistry, physics or electrical or mechanical engineering in college. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic records, recommendations and the student’s statement of goals.

Funds Avail.: $900. To Apply: Applicants must use a computer, typewriter or print neatly in blue or black ink all appropriate forms. Deadline: April 1.

Virgil K. Lobring Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to students of Southeast Michigan region for their education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be members of the graduating class at Southwestern High School in Detroit, Michigan; must demonstrate exemplary desire, ability and good grades; demonstrate leadership and character through extra curricular activities, volunteer involvement and work experience in school and in the community; have applied or been accepted as full-time students in an accredited educational institution in the United States; must be students who have demonstrated the greatest improvement from the time during freshman year in high school as determined by the Lobring Scholarship committee; must demonstrate financial need. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic records, recommendations and statement of goals.

Funds Avail.: $1,500. To Apply: Applicants must submit the application containing scholarship guidelines and deadlines, student application, essay question, recommendation forms from counselor, teacher and community service forms; and transcripts release form. Deadline: April 1.

Cary Moore Memorial Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to the male varsity athlete from North Farmington High School student who best personifies school spirit and good sportsmanship. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be members of the graduating class at North Farmington High School who demonstrates exemplary desire, ability and good grades; must be male athletes who show leadership, character and sportsmanship by participation in varsity athletics at North Farmington High School and Raiders Pride; have applied or been accepted as a full-time students in an accredited educational institution in the United States. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic records, recommendations, and the statement of goals.

Funds Avail.: $1,500. Number Awarded: 1. To Apply: Applicants must use a computer, typewriter or print neatly in blue or black ink all appropriate forms. Deadline: April 2.

Jean and Tom Rosenthal Scholarship Program (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to students of Southeast Michigan region for their education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be members of the graduating class at Pontiac Northern High School or Pontiac Central High School demonstrating exemplary desire, ability and good grades of at least 2.5 or higher; must show leadership and character through extracurricular activities, volunteer involvement and work experience in school and in the community; have applied or been accepted as full-time students in an accredited educational institution in the United States. Criteria: Applicant will be evaluated based on academic records, recommendations and the student’s essay on personal commitment of service to others.

Jeptha Wade Schureman Scholarship Program (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to students of Southeast Michigan region for their education. Focus: Law; Nursing; Medicine; Dentistry. Qualif.: Applicants must be residents of Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Lenawee, Monroe, Livingston, Washtenaw, or St. Clair counties at the time of high school graduation; must be fatherless either through death or through termination of parental rights; must be pursuing, or planning to pursue, a degree in the fields of

law, nursing, medicine or dentistry. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic records, recommendations and statement of goals.

Funds Avail.: $7,500. To Apply: Applicants must submit the completed application form and other required documents. Deadline: June 2.
