First Lieutenant Scott McClean Love Memorial Scholarship - Children of Soldiers (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To financially assist deserving sons/daughters of current or former United States Army personnel in their pursuit of higher education. Focus: General studies. Qua-lif.: Applicant must be the son/daughter of a serving regular active duty, active duty Reserve, or active duty National Guard U.S. Army member in good standing, or the son/daughter of a former U.S. Army member who received an Honorable Discharge or Medical Discharge, or was killed while serving in the U.S. Army. Must be a U.S. citizen not reaching 24th birthday by application deadline; and a high school senior, high school graduate, or registered as an undergraduate student at an accredited college or vocational/technical institution. Criteria: Award is given based on the application materials.

Funds Avail.: $500-$2,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed scholarship application form along with a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); a signed copy of the appropriate income tax return for the previous year; a certificate of good service or the parent's/spouse's DD 214; a high school transcript and transcripts from all post high school educational institutions (if applicable); an essay; and a photograph. Deadline: May 1.
