DEED Student Research Grant/Internships (Graduate, Undergraduate/Grant)

Purpose: To promote the involvement of students in studying energy-related disciplines in the public power industry, and to provide host utilities with technical assistance. Focus: Energy-related areas. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduate or undergraduate students studying in energy-related disciplines from accredited colleges or universities; must be willing to work in a state with at least one sponsor DEED member. Criteria: Selection of applicants will be based on the scholarship criteria: (a) Broad applicability of benefits to public power systems; (b) Close involvement of the host utility in project monitoring, sponsorship, and guidance; (c) Major in an academic field related to the electric power or energy service industries; (d) Superior academic performance; (e) Special consideration to utilities who have not previously sponsored a student and to small utilities; (f) Educational and learning opportunities for student(s) in public power and utility field.

Funds Avail.: $4,000. To Apply: Applicants must complete the information on the DEED Student Research Grant/Internship application coversheet available online; must submit the original signature of the student, utility authority and school official as well as other information requested in

required signature section; must have a single transcript of the student's academic record. Deadline: February 15 and October 1.
