APSNA Educational Scholarships (Professional Development/Scholarship)
Purpose: To assist APSNA members to further their professional education. Focus: Nursing; Pediatric medicine; Surgery. Qualif.: Applicants must be an APSNA member in good standing for at least one year; a registered nurse or advanced practice nurse with 2 years experience in pediatric surgical nursing involved in pediatric surgery patient care, education or research; must be active in the development of professional pediatric surgical nursing practices and standards. Criteria: Scholarship recipients will be selected based on the Education Committee's review of the application materials.
Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must submit a completed application form; a documentation
of program conference or educational needs which the scholarship will be used; description of the program course; a current curriculum vitae; a letter of recommendation from a co-worker; a cover letter to the Director at Large stating the applicant's credentials, experience, and involvement in the pediatric surgical nursing practices and standards; and an essay about the importance of the award.
