ACNM Foundation, Inc. Fellowship for Graduate Education (Doctorate, Postdoctorate/Fellowship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for midwives actively enrolled in doctoral or post-doctoral studies. Focus: Midwifery. Qualif.: Applicants must be certified nurse-midwives (CNM) or certified midwives (CM); must be current members of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM); must be actively enrolled in a doctoral or postdoctoral education program; and must be graduate students in good standing as verified by the Academic Program Director. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on financial need and academic achievement.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must submit application form; academic/career goals and plans; academic director form; and two academic recommendations. Deadline: March 17.

Basic Midwifery Student Scholarship Program (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide assistance to students of nurse-midwifery. Focus: Nursing; Midwifery. Qualif.: Applicants must be students in good standing in an ACNM DOA accredited basic midwifery education program; must have successfully completed one academic or clinical semester/quarter or clinical module; and must be current members of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM). Criteria: Applicants are judged based on demonstrated academic excellence and financial need.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must submit application information form; statement of career goals and plans; financial assessment form; statement of financial need; program director form; and the faculty recommendation form. Deadline: March 17.

Hazel Corbin/Childbirth Connection Grant for Evidence-based Midwifery Care (Professional Development/Award/Prize)

Purpose: To support or augment projects that advance understanding of the safety and/or effectiveness of midwifery practices for mothers and newborns. Focus: Nursing; Midwifery. Qualif.: Applicants must be professionals involved in furthering understanding of the safety and/or effectiveness of midwifery practices for mothers and newborns; may be professionals from midwifery or any other field that may contribute to such objective (for example, nursing, public health, social science); may be affiliated with an academic institution, an advocacy group, a clinical entity, a professional organization (including ACNM), a public agency, a research or consulting organization, or other group that may be concerned with evidence-based midwifery care; and may be based in the United States or in another country. Criteria: Applicants will be evaluated based on completed application form which should clearly describe information needed to address the review criteria, including assessment of the project relevance, excellence and impact.
