Air Traffic Control Association Full-time Employee Student Scholarships (Other/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to full-time employees enrolled in advanced study programs that enhance employee's skills in aviation-related position. Focus: Traffic management. Qualif.: Applicants must have attendance equal to at least half-time (6 semester hours or the equivalent) and a minimum of 30 semester or 45 hours still to be completed before graduation; must be enrolled or accepted in a two-year or greater air traffic control program at an institution approved and/or listed by the Federal Aviation Administration as directly supporting the FAA's college training initiative; must be enrolled or accepted in an accredited college or university and planning to continue the following academic year; must be enrolled in course work related to his/her aviation-related career and leading to a bachelor's degree or greater; must be engaged in full-time employment in an aviation-related field; must be enrolled in course work designed to enhance the applicant's skill in an air traffic control or other aviation-related discipline. Criteria: Recipient will be selected by the Scholarship Selection Committee based on set of criteria.

Funds Avail.: No amount mentioned. To Apply: Applicants must provide two letters of recommendation (from present or previous teachers, professors, instructors, supervisors, or managers) from within the last 12 months; submit certified

transcript of all college coursework. If less than 30 semester or 45 quarter hours of college coursework have been completed, all high school transcripts also are required, work or experience that supports your educational and/or aviation career goals must be addressed in the application and/or essay; financial need must be addressed in your application and/or essay; submit a paper on the subject, “How My Education Efforts Will Enhance My Potential Contribution To Aviation.” which should be typed, doubled spaced, 400 words maximum.
