Golden House. Domus Aurea built by Nero to designs by Severus (mid-C1) on the Esquiline Hill, Rome. It was a large palace with landscaped gardens, and was remarkable for its complex plan with rooms of different geometrical shapes, many of them vaulted and sumptuously decorated.
