Aguilonius, Franciscus (1567–1617). Flemish architect of Spanish descent. He designed the Jesuit Church in Antwerp (St Carolus Borromeus), begun 1615, which owed something to Il Gesù in Rome. The building was completed under the direction of Peter Huyssens and decorated by Sir Peter Paul Rubens (1577–1640).
