A PREDICTION AHEAD OF ITS TIME
In 1957 Herbert Simon predicted that a computer would beat a grand master in chess in ten years. Although, as he noted, he was off by a factor of 4 (40 years), he did correctly anticipate this potential complexity of computing technology, if not the timeframe within which it would be achieved.
