tramadol (tram-ă-dol) n. an opioid analgesic (see opiate) used for the relief of moderate or severe pain. It is administered by mouth or injection and causes less marked side-effects than other opioids. Trade names: Tramake Insts,Zamadol,Zydol, etc.
