SIDELIGHTS:

Sharon McMahon Moffitt told CA: "Though I have traditionally written poetry, a few years ago I chose to write a book that I would say has been 'in the making' for many years. It combines personal memoir with reflection on a familiar passage of scripture in the Bible, 'The Beatitudes.' I wrote about this passage because I find it challenging, counter-cultural, and essential.

"The book grew out of an ongoing Bible study in my home with high school and college students—a group of highly intelligent, inquisitive, and courageous students."
