SIDELIGHTS: Cheryl Kimball told CA: "I have been compelled to work out my thoughts in writing for as long as I can remember. I particularly enjoy writing about horses since they consume a lot of my time.

"Often my writing process involves doing as much research as I can until I feel like I need to spill some of it out in print. With books that are less researchbased, I tend to start writing in longhand, then at some point I key my first draft into a computer file and begin the revising process on what I've done and continue from there. As a full-time writer, often the mortgage payment is my inspiration, but I am now at a point where I'm ready to do some fiction and a couple other projects."
