Void, Ion Romanian violinist and conductor; b. Bucharest, Oct. 8, 1925. He enrolled at the Bucharest Cons, at 13 as a violin pupil of George Enacovici. After making his debut on the Bucharest Radio in 1940, he continued his training with Enesco (1945); then studied with Yampolsky and Oistrakh at the Moscow Cons. (1955-57). In 1969 he founded a chamber orch. in Bucharest; toured widely with this ensemble in succeeding years. From 1971 to 1982 he was music director of the Georges Enesco Phil. in Bucharest.
