Santini, Gabriele (b Perugia, 1886; d Rome, 1964). It. conductor. Began career in Rome. Cond. at Teatro Colón, Buenos Aires, for 8 seasons and at Rio de Janeiro. Ass. to Toscanini at La Scala 1925–9. Cond. Rome Opera 1929–33, art. dir. 1944–7. Cond. La traviata recording with Callas.
