Rössl-Majdan, Hildegard , Austrian contralto; b. Moosbierbaum, Jan. 21, 1921. She was educated at the Vienna Academy of Music. In 1946 she launched her career as a concert singer; also appeared at the Vienna State Opera, Milan’s La Scala, London’s Covent Garden, and other European opera houses; sang at the festivals in Salzburg, Edinburgh, and Aix-en- Provence; later was active as a voice teacher.
