Reimers, Paul
Reimers, Paul , German-American tenor; b. Lunden, Schleswig-Holstein (of Danish parents), March 14, 1878; d. N.Y., April 14, 1942. He studied in Hamburg, where he made his stage debut as Max in Der Freischütz (1902). After further training with George Henschel in Scotland, Raimund von Zur Mühlen in London, and Jean Criticos in Paris, he devoted himself to a concert career and sang widely in Europe. In 1913 he went to America. He gave programs of German lieder, and also performed songs of the modern French school. From 1924 he taught at the Juilliard School of Music in N.Y.
