Plautzius (real name, Plavic), Gabriel , Slovenian instrumentalist and composer; b. Carniola, date unknown; d. Mainz, Jan. 11, 1641. He was Kapellmeister at the electoral court in Mainz from 1612, where he introduced the concertato style. He publ. Flosculus vernalis sacras cantiones, missas aliasque laudes B. Mariae continens for 3 to 6 and 8 Voices and Basso Continuo (Aschaffenburg, 1622).
