Planson, Jean

Planson, Jean , French organist and composer; b. probably in Paris, c. 1559; d. after 1612. He was active in Paris, where he was organist at the collegiate church of St. Germain l’Auxérrois (1575–78?) and at St. Sauveur (1586–88). He publ. a vol. of motets and sonnets for 3 to 5 and 7 Voices (Paris, 1583) and a vol. of airs for 4 Voices (Paris, 1587).
