Pipkov, Panayot

Pipkov, Panayot, Bulgarian composer, father of Lubomir Pipkov; b. Plovdiv, Dec. 2,1871; d. Sofia, Aug. 25, 1942. He studied violin before attending the Milan Cons. (1893–95). After conducting in Rusa, he settled in Sofia in 1905. In addition to his musical career, he also pursued acting and literary activities. He composed 2 children’s operettas, many choral works, and piano pieces.
