Peiko, Nikolai
Peiko, Nikolai, Russian composer and teacher; b. Moscow, March 25, 1916; d. there, July 1, 1995. He studied with Litinsky, Rakov, and Miaskovsky at the Moscow Cons. (1933–40). From 1942 to 1959 he taught at the Moscow Cons. His music faithfully follows the precepts of socialist realism.
