Otto, Lisa
Otto, Lisa, German soprano; b. Dresden, Nov. 14, 1919. She was educated at the Hochschule für Musik in Dresden. She made her operatic debut as Sophie in 1941 at the Landestheater in Beuthen. In 1945–46 she sang at the Nuremberg Opera. She was a member of the Dresden State Opera (1946–51); then joined the Berlin Städtische Opera (1952); also sang in Salzburg (from 1953), and made tours of the U.S., South America, and Japan. She was made a Kammersängerin in 1963. She became best known for her roles in Mozart’s operas.
