Nicolet, Aurèle (b Neuchâtel, 1926). Swiss flautist and teacher. Won fl. prize Geneva int. comp. 1948. Prin. fl. Winterthur Orch. 1948–50, Berlin PO 1950–9. Salzburg Fest. début 1958. Prof., Berlin Hochschule für Musik 1953–65, then taught in Freyburg and Basle. Noted player of classics and of contemp. works written for him by Huber, Kelterborn, Takemitsu, and Denisov.
