Milveden, (Jan) Ingmar (Georg), Swedish composer, organist, and musicologist; b. Göteborg, Feb. 15, 1920. He studied cello and organ, then took a course in composition with Sven Svensson and in musicology with C.A. Moberg at the Univ. of Uppsala (graduated, 1945; Fillic., 1951; Ph.D., 1972, with the diss. Zu den liturgischen “Hystorie” in Schweden. Liturgie- und choralgeschichtliche Untersuchungen). He was organist at Uppsala’s St. Per’s Church (1967–78), and lectured at the Univ. of Stockholm (1970–73) and at the Univ. of Uppsala (1972–86). He distinguished himself as a composer of church music.
