Lampugnani, Giovanni Battista
Lampugnani, Giovanni Battista, Italian teacher and composer; b. Milan, 1706; d. probably there, after 1786. From 1743 to 1745 he was active at the King’s Theatre in London, and later he was maestro al cembalo at La Scala in Milan. Over the period of 1732-69, he wrote 28 operas in the style of Hasse, which were presented in London, Venice, Milan, and other cities. He also publ. some trio sonatas and also wrote syms. and concertos.
