Kreubé, Charles Frédéric
Kreubé, Charles Frédéric, French conductor and composer; b. Luneville, Nov. 5, 1777; d. near St.-Denis, 1846. He studied violin in Paris with R. Kreutzer (1800). He joined the orch. of the Paris Opéra-Comique as a violinist, and from 1816 to 1828 was 1st conductor. He wrote 16 operas as well as violin pieces.
