Henry, Jehan, Le Jeune
Henry, Jehan, Le Jeune, France violinist and composer; b. Paris, Aug. 1560; d. there, Jan. 1635. He was the son of Jehan Henry l’aîné, “maître joureur d’instruments,” and served as a violon de la chambre du roi and as a member of the 24 violons du roi. M. Mersenne publ, several of his instrumental works in his Harmonie universelle (Paris, 1636-37; Traité des instruments, books 4-5). His brother, Michel Henry (1554–1635), also served as a violon de la chambre du roi and as a member of the 24 violons du roi, but is principally known for his MS listing of ballets he performed at the court (1580–1620).
