Hansen, Wilhelm
Hansen, Wilhelm, Danish music publishing firm founded in Copenhagen in 1857 by Jens Wilhelm Hansen (1821–1904). His sons, Jonas Wilhelm (1850–1919) and Alfred Wilhelm Hansen (1854–1922), were also active in the business. Alfred’s sons, Asger Wilhelm (1889–1965) and Svend Wilhelm Hansen (1890–1959), and, later, Svend’s daughters, Hanne Wilhelm (b. 1927) and Lone Wilhelm Hansen (b. 1930), carried on the business. The firm publ. many works by Scandinavian composers, as well as many by Europeans. It has branches in Frankfurt am Main, London, N.Y., Oslo, Stockholm, Àrhus, and Odense
