Griend, Koos van de Dutch pianist, conductor, music critic, and composer; b. Kampen, near Zwolle, Dec. 11, 1905; d. Amsterdam, Jan. 12, 1950. He studied in Amsterdam and in Berlin. Returning to Amsterdam in 1933, he developed energetic activities as a pianist, conductor, and music critic. He wrote 2 syms., a Cello Concerto, 3 string quartets, and a Quartet for 4 Horns.
