Grieg, Nina (née Hagerup)
Grieg, Nina, (née Hagerup), Norwegian soprano; b. near Bergen, Nov. 24, 1845; d. Copenhagen, Dec. 9, 1935. Her father, Herman Hagerup, was a brother of Grieg’s mother. Nina Hagerup studied singing with Helsted; she met Edvard Grieg in Copenhagen, and married him on June 11, 1867. Her interpretations of his songs elicited much praise from the critics.
