Ghiglia, Oscar
Ghiglia, Oscar, Italian guitarist; b. Livorno, Aug. 13, 1938. He studied at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome (graduated, 1962), then took lessons with Segovia at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena. After winning a guitar competition in Paris in 1963, he received a scholarship to the Schola Cantorum, where he studied music history with Jacques Chailley (1963-64). He made his American and British debuts in 1966, and subsequently toured in America and in Europe.
