Curzon, (Sir) Clifford (Michael) (b London, 1907; d London, 1982). Eng. pianist. In 1923 was a soloist in Bach triple concerto at Prom. Concert cond. by Wood. In 1931 married Amer. harpsichordist Lucille Wallace. Amer. début, NY, 1939. Salzburg Fest. début 1955. Though often playing Romantics such as Liszt and Tchaikovsky, increasingly concentrated on Schubert, Beethoven, and especially Mozart. Played pf. duets with Britten. CBE 1958. Knighted 1977.
