Carapetian, Armen (b Isphahan, Persia, of Armenian parents, 1908; d Francestown, NH, 1992). Persian-Amer. musicologist. In 1944 founded Institute of Renaissance and Baroque Mus., Rome, superseded by the American Institute of Musicology of which he was dir. Ed works of Brumel.
