Bellezza, Vincenzo (b Bitonto, Bari, 1888; d Rome, 1964). It. conductor. Début San Carlo, Naples, 1908, in Aida. Cond. at NY Met 1926–35, CG 1926–30 and 1935–6. At CG cond. at Melba's farewell (1926), and at first London perf. of Turandot (1927). Rome Opera after 1935. Re-visited London 1957 (Stoll Th.) and 1958 (Drury Lane).
