When Eight Bells Toll ★★1971

MacLean adapted his own adventure novel in which naval secret service agent Philip Calvert (Hopkins) discovers that millions in gold bullion is being stolen. He and agent Hunslett (Redgrave) travel to Scotland, posing as marine biologists; there they encounter hostile Scottish locals and a suspicious Greek tycoon, Skouras (Hawkins), who has a very attractive companion (Delon). Hawkins had lost his voice to throat cancer so his lines were dubbed by actor Charles Gray. 94m/C VHS, DVD .
