Showbiz drama based on the life of singer Jane Froman, with a stellar performance by Hayward. Told in flashback; Jane (Hayward) gets her first big break in radio and decides to marry mentor Don (Wayne), who becomes increasingly jealous of her success. During a WWII troop tour, Jane's plane crashes near Lisbon and she's rescued by pilot John Burn (Calhoun), who falls in love as Jane slowly recuperates. Aided by faithful nurse Clancy (Ritter), Jane is eventually strong enough to try for a comeback and Don finally realizes that their marriage is over. Froman herself dubbed the singing for Hayward. 117m/C DVD .
