Something Wild
Something Wild ★★½ 1986 (R)
Mild-mannered business exec Daniels is picked up by an impossibly free-living vamp with a Louise Brooks hairdo, and taken for the ride of his up-till-then staid life, eventually leading to explosive violence. A sharp-edged comedy with numerous changes of pace. Too-happy ending wrecks it, but it's great until then. Look for cameos from filmmakers John Waters and John Sayles. 113m/C VHS, DVD . Jeff Daniels, Melanie Griffith, Ray Liotta, Margaret Colin, Tracey Walter, Dana Peru, Jack Gilpin, Su Tissue, Kenneth Utt, Sister Carol East, John Sayles, John Waters, Charles Napier; D: Jonathan Demme; W: E. Max Frye; C: Tak Fujimoto; M: Rosemary Paul, John Cale, Laurie Anderson, David Byrne.
