Sam Whiskey
Sam Whiskey ★★½ 1969 (PG-13)
Charming but uneven western/heist flick has widow Dickinson hire a motley group of misfits, led by Sam Whiskey (Reynolds) to retrieve her late husband's gold from the bottom of a river. Only she wants them to return it to the U.S. Mint from which he stole it. Quirky comedy has a great cast, but doesn't always equal the sum of its parts. 96m/C DVD . Burt Reynolds, Clint Walker, Ossie Davis, William Schallert, Angie Dickinson, Woodrow Parfrey, Anthony James, Del Reeves, William Boyett; D: Arnold Laven; W: William W. Norton Sr.; M: Herschel Burke Gilbert.
