The Raven 1963
The Raven ★★★ 1963
This couldhavebeen monumental teaming of horror greats Karloff, Lorre, and Price is more of a satire than a true horror film. One of the more enjoyable of the Corman/Poe adaptations, the movie takes only the title of the poem. As for the story line: Price and Karloff play two rival sorcerers who battle for supremacy, with Lorre as the unfortunate associate turned into the bird of the title. 86m/C VHS, DVD . Vincent Price, Boris Karloff, Peter Lorre, Jack Nicholson, Hazel Court, Olive Sturgess; D: Roger Corman; W: Richard Matheson; C: Floyd Crosby; M: Les Baxter.
