Pipe Dream ★★½ 2002 (R)

David (Donovan) is a New York City plumber who is tired of being taken for granted by snobs. So he steals the unproduced screenplay of writer/neighbor Toni (Parker) and pretends to be a casting director with the help of industry pal R.J. (Carroll). He holds auditions for his nonexistant movie and suddenly the buzz is that the film is hot and everyone wants a piece of the action, including Toni, who feeds the clueless David appropriate showbiz lines. The cast is good but the film turns out to be mildly amusing rather than satiric. 94m/ C VHS, DVD .
