Pipelare, Matthaeus
Pipelare, Matthaeus, Flemish composer; b. c. 1450; d. c. 1512. He was active in Antwerp, and was engaged as master of the choristers of the Marian Brotherhood in ’s-Hertogenbosch (1498–1500). His style has a certain affinity with that of Pierre de la Rue. His extant works include 9 masses and a number of motets and chansons, which R. Cross ed. in Corpus Mensura-bilis Musicae, XXXII/3 (1966–67).
