Our Music ★★ Our Music 2004

Godard divides his film into three kingdoms, using Dante's “The Divine Comedy” as his structure. First there's Hell, with a montage showing war and genocide throughout history. Next is the longest section, Purgatory, set in Sarajevo and featuring Godard at a literary conference where we meet Israeli journalist Judith (Adler), and Olga (Dieu), a Russian Jew now living in Israel, and the theme is reconciliation and sacrifice. Then we get to Heaven, which again features Olga under very different circumstances. If you're a Godard fan, you'll know what strangeness you're getting into: others beware. French with subtitles. 80m/C DVD . FR SI Nade Dieu, Sarah Adler; D: Jean-Luc Godard; W: Jean-Luc Godard; C: Julien Hirsch, Jean-Christophe Beauvallet.
