Numero Deux ★★ Number Two 1975

Godard explores politics, sex, and the trials of the modern family. A dissatisfied wife suffers from chronic constipation, her exhausted husband is impotent, they, their children, and grandparents all try to cope with daily life. For nine-tenths of the film Godard only used small portions of the screen (the upper left and lower right corners) to manipulate his message of frustration. It's only at the end that the full-screen is used to offer some sort of relief. In French with English subtitles. 90m/C VHS . FR Sandrine Battistella, Pierre Oudry, Alex(andre) Rignault, Rachel Stefanopol; D: Jean-Luc Godard; W: Anne-Marie Mieville, Jean-Luc Godard.
