Mama Turns a Hundred
Mama Turns a Hundred ★★★ 1979 (R)
A baronial family (a bizarre set of characters) is celebrating their mother's 100th birthday at her estate. One of the daughter's seduces her brother-in-law, another has a uniform fetish, a religious zealot is desperate to hangglide, and several of them are trying to kill poor Mama. But of course she prevails, although sick and ailing. Slowpaced yet uproarious film full of inept characters who bumble along. In Spanish with English subtitles. 100m/C VHS . SP Geraldine Chaplin, Fernando Fernan-Gomez, Amparo Munoz; D: Carlos Saura.
