Provincial painter Tatsu (Hayakawa) is obsessed with painting dragons, believing that his fantasy princess was captured by such a beast. Celebrated Tokyo artist Kano Indara (Peil) is looking for an apprentice and Tatsu accepts after meeting Kano's daughter Ume Ko (Aoki), whom he believes is his lost princess. They marry and Tatsu is so happy he gives up painting, so Ume Ko decides she must leave him for the sake of his art. 53m/B DVD .
