In 1949 Mexico, overweight nurse and willful romantic Coral (Orozco), impulsively answers a lonely hearts ad placed by Nicolas (Gimenez Cacho), who turns out to be a seedy con man. Coral, however, is certain she's found her true love and is obsessive in her devotion. So much so that she decides to help him with his swindling of vulnerable widows.
