Days of Glory 2006
Days of Glory ★★ Indigenes 2006 (R)
Issue-based WWII drama caused a furor as it brought up the shabby treatment received by North African colonial recruits who fought for France as second-class citizens. Poorly trained, they bravely battle on while being unjustly treated and degraded by their superior officers. The Moroccans are more mouthpieces than individuals but the actors work well as an ensemble, and director Bouchareb keeps his drama to human scale. French and Arabic with subtitles. 123m/C DVD . AL BE FR Jamel Debbouze, Roschdy Zem, Sami Bouajila, Mathieu Simonet, Samy Naceri, Bernard Blancan, Benoit Giros; D: Rachid Bouchareb; W: Rachid Bouchareb, Olivier Morelle; C: Patrick Blossier; M: Armand Amar.
